Modified EMDR · Trauma-Focused Psychotherapy
A precision-focused form of trauma-focused psychotherapy for the moments that changed everything.
Florida · Arizona · Massachusetts · Washington, DC
Modified EMDR is a form of trauma-focused psychotherapy. It is a blend of somatic work, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and alternative bilateral stimulation, used for memory reconsolidation of single-event traumas.
Somatic work pays attention to how your body responds to traumatic memories and reminders. NLP and alternative bilateral stimulation help the brain reprocess one specific event at a time, so the memory can be stored differently. Modified EMDR is part of our trauma-focused psychotherapy. It is offered by secure telehealth in Florida, Arizona, Massachusetts, and Washington, DC, and in person in Orlando, Florida.
Modified EMDR is offered to adolescents, adults, and older adults. It can help:
Veterans with a specific traumatic event from their service.
People living with the weight of an assault.
Anyone affected by a single event, such as an accident or a sudden loss.
Adolescents, adults, and older adults, with care paced to each person.
We start by understanding your history and goals, and whether a single-event approach fits what you are carrying.
Together we identify the specific event to work with.
Sessions blend somatic work, NLP, and alternative bilateral stimulation, always at a pace that respects your nervous system. The goal is to help the brain process traumatic events quickly, so that memories or reminders no longer activate and interfere with daily life.
Every journey here begins with a free, no-pressure 15-minute call to talk about what you are carrying and whether modified EMDR is a good fit. No commitment required.
